Education: Master of Science (M.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology from Columbia University

I am a NYC-based bilingual (English/Spanish) speech therapist with an exclusive focus on working with children in the daycare, preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school populations for nearly a decade. After graduating from Columbia University with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, I have worked in various settings helping children with speech and language delays, childhood apraxia of speech, Autism Spectrum Disorder, dysarthria, dysfluency, visual impairments, emotional and behavioral disturbances, intellectual disabilities, and Microdeletion Syndrome.

In 2014, I became officially PROMPT-trained by The PROMPT Institute; these touch cues provide additional support when targeting oral-motor skill goals to help children develop proper motor control of their speech articulators.  I worked part-time as an Early Intervention speech therapy provider from 2012 through 2018.  I have worked in the following schools, daycare centers, and hospitals: Susan Wagner: Grow With Us Pre-School, Northside Center for Child Development, The Child School: Legacy High School, The Lavelle School for the Blind, NYC Public School District 75: PS155 William Paca, and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.

I was born and raised in NYC.  After receiving my Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) from Emory University's Goizueta Business school, I worked as a strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting.  After 5 years working in the business world, I realized that I wanted to change course.  I come from a medical family; my father is a physician and my mother worked as a speech language pathologist in hospitals for over 30 years.  I have always enjoyed discussions about creating treatment plans and thinking about the best way to approach various diagnoses while collaborating with other providers.  I love my work not only as a speech therapist and teacher but because I am a lifelong learner and strive to learn as much from all my clients to provide the best possible service and treatment plans.  The best part of my job is working with children and watching them learn and grow.
